Payment

Payment is by PayPal and you will be directed to the PayPal website to do this. No personal financial details can be seen, accessed or stored by Orkney Wool. Yarn will only be dispatched when payment has cleared through PayPal. Prices and delivery charges may be changed at any time without notice. Orders already placed will be at the charges at the time of ordering.

Delivery

We will dispatch your yarn as soon as possible after purchase, normally within 3 working days. Royal Mail services from Orkney by sea and air are very dependant on,amongst other things, weather conditions. There may therefore be delays totally outwith our control. Please note that if you are an international buyer, you may also have to pay a customs charge on receipt of your package and this is your responsibility. Within the UK Royal Mail 1st Class is used. International orders are sent by Royal Mail International Standard service. Royal Mail say they aim to deliver within the UK on the next working day, but there is often an extra day needed to deliver from Orkney. For Europe Royal Mail says 3-5 working days and for the rest of the world it is 5-7 working days. Please note that local delivery services outside UK may delay delivery beyond the Royal Mail aims. A Royal Mail certificate of posting will be obtained when parcels are dispatched, but this does not allow for any tracking of a parcel. Please wait at least 5 working days for UK deliveries and at least 10 working days for international deliveries before contacting Orkney Wool about a delayed parcel. Please check first that the parcel isn't being held at your local Post Office or Sorting Office. Refunds cannot be issued until after the Royal Mail missing packages period for your location. Orkney Wool is not responsible for delays or missing parcels where an incorrect or incomplete delivery address was given.

Consumer Rights

All customers have the right to cancel their orders under the The Distance Selling Regulations which gives consumers extra protection when buying online. Specific legislation here that applies is regulation 8 of The Distance Selling Regulations. You have the right to cancel the purchase of a good without having to give a reason at any time within the "cooling off period" of seven working days, beginning on the day after you receive the goods.

If you are in possession of the goods you are under the duty to retain them and take reasonable care of them. You must contact Orkney Wool in writing (by post or email) within 7 working days, providing your name, address, telephone number and order details and send the goods back to us to our contact address at your own cost (unless we delivered the item to you in error or the item is damaged or defective) as soon as possible once you have cancelled the contract. We cannot accept liability for returned goods lost or damaged during transit. Please package the goods carefully to avoid damage, and to return them by recorded delivery, registered post, or by courier. Proof of postage cannot be accepted as proof of delivery. Please remember to include your name, address, and a copy of your purchase receipt with the returned items. We will not refund the postage cost of returned orders. We reserve the right to make a charge not exceeding our direct costs of recovering the goods if you do not return the goods or return them at our expense. Once you have notified us that you wish to cancel the contract, any sum debited to us will be refunded to you as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your cancellation.
